HMD Fuse uses the Android operating system.
Who are HMD?
HMD stands for Human Mobile Devices. They’re a mobile technology company that’s focused on developing smartphones and accessories with built-in safety and privacy at their core.
HMD Fuse uses AI-powered HarmBlock+ technology to prevent children from accessing, creating, or sharing inappropriate sexual content.
Social media, app store, online access, even adding contacts requires your approval. You can control it all from your own phone using the HarmBlock+ Guardian app. HMD Fuse is ideal for children from 10 to 13 and you can ease protections as they get older, when you think they’re ready.
How does HarmBlock+ work?
HarmBlock uses a trained AI to scan what’s on screen and block inappropriate sexual imagery from any app or website. It scans files and deletes harmful images and videos, and also prevents the camera app from taking photos or videos featuring nudity.
Key features of HMD Fuse

The phone that grows with your kids
Children develop at their own pace. As they grow older and understand the online world better, you can release more features to them, giving them more responsibility while keeping important protections in place.

Apps only when you’re ready
When HMD Fuse is linked with your phone using the HarmBlock+ Guardian app, all protections are on by default. Everything is blocked until you enable it. Socials, app store, online access, even adding contacts requires approval.

Contact whitelisting
Before allowing access to messenger apps, you can use the contact whitelist to allow kids to call and have SMS chats with approved contacts. If unknown individuals try to call or text, they won’t get through.
Location tracking
Enjoy peace of mind by keeping track of where they are, at any time. You can check where they’ve been and create safe zones – like their school or journey home – and get notified if they leave the area.

Data privacy
HarmBlock+ uses a pre-trained, self-contained AI that doesn’t collect or share user data. Your content and personal data stays on your phone where it’s supposed to.

Frequently asked questions
While HMD phones are available from a number of stores, HMD Fuse is available only from Three.
HarmBlock+ protection is built into HMD Fuse and remains active for the whole lifetime of the phone.
HarmBlock+ is an AI-powered classifier that’s designed to detect and block most harmful and illegal sexual content in images, videos, and live-streamed media. Harmful sexual content is material featuring adult sexual themes deemed inappropriate for children, while illegal sexual content refers specifically to child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
While future updates will include the detection of additional harms such as violence and gore, the current version of HarmBlock+ is focused exclusively on identifying sexual content.
Please note HarmBlock AI is designed to help reduce explicit content from being seen, captured, or saved on the device. Explicit content refers to imagery or videos containing nudity and / or sexual content.
In mobile user testing conducted by SafeToNet, it achieved weighted average accuracy of up to 95%, in identifying explicit and neutral content. While highly accurate, no AI model is perfect, and performance may vary in real life conditions.
You can download the HarmBlock+ Guardian app to your own phone from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. This will help you to control app management, set screen time settings, set up location tracking, and set up the safe calls list.
